'I can see directly into your home': Entitled neighbor demands new resident close their kitchen curtains because she can see inside their house, resident refuses to comply

When you walk around your home, does it ever cross your mind that someone might be able to see directly inside? 

Whether you thought about that possibility before, or it has just now been brought to your attention, you probably understand why this possibility makes many people uncomfortable. Who wants their privacy to be violated by complete strangers? That is one of the reasons why curtains and blinds were invented. 

The new resident in the story below, however, was not eager to ensure their neighbors could not see inside their home. In fact, when one of the neighbors, Carol, sent them a letter that revealed she could see their living room from her backyard, and told them they should consider putting up curtains, they did not appreciate the concealed demand. Why should they be the ones to close their curtains? If they don't care that someone else can see them, is it really their problem?

    beamrider Now, if it said "If we can see inside your house, the properties to either side of us can, too, as well as people on the street between us" it would clear it was meant as a warning. Possible that IS what was intended but they were afraid of sounding like they were accusing their own neighbors of being pe s.
